All nestled in a cul-de-sac off Lake Acworth. The homes were practically brand new two-story homes. The neighbors were wonderful and so friendly. My neighbor across the street has become a friend for life. The area built up like wildfires. It was a wonderful place but we were at a time in our life that we needed peace and tranquility. We were blessed with Twin boys just a few years earlier and we knew a small town atmosphere is what we wanted them to experience. So we decided to sell just a short 3 years later. Again, we walked away from the closing table with a bundle.
Our search for peace and tranquility landed us in the quaint town of Ellijay. We purchased our home in the Coosawattee River Resort. The illusion of being far away from civilization but yet 10 minutes from town was perfect. I remember the first day that we moved into our small humble home that we received a warm greeting from a beautiful whippoorwill. I loved the sounds of the crickets at night and the whippoorwill calling for his mate. Ahhh…..I knew I was finally at home surrounded by peace. The abundance of flowers surrounded by the wilderness gave me another connection with God, which can only be personally felt. I cannot find the words to explain such an amazing feeling.
